Portfolio Chief Human Resources Officer
About
Ashley is the Portfolio Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at LFM Capital and is responsible for talent development of portfolio companies, employee strategies, team bench strength growth and learning and development. She brings to the firm over 15 years of management leadership and operating experience, having served in a varied of executive and functional roles in HR, operations, finance, consulting, and academia.
Background
Ashley has a multi-faceted background working in the military, operations supply chain, consulting, project management office (PMO) and learning and development (L&D). Through her various roles, she has worn multiple hats of human resources, operations and finance through budgeting, planning, accounting, labor allocating, and training.
Prior to LFM, Ashley managed a global L&D team at Amazon, managing the training program for 2,600+ employees as well a PMO team focused on the creation of new products and programs, and improvement to key processes in Amazon Transportation with impact reaching billions of dollars in transportation. Prior to Amazon, Ashley led Square Peg Solutions, a Leadership Optimization & Operations Engagement consulting firm, working with small to mid-size companies, developing bespoke human resources and operations strategies to optimize leaders’ impact on their organization. Ashley also worked for the retail department store Belk as Supplier Manager, driving change through employee improvement processes in procurement and store support, and in an operations lead role at Amazon, where she led over 250 associates.
In her first career in the Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer, Ashley led hundreds of sailors on two ships and was responsible for a multitude of leadership practices – from the training and development of sailors to succession planning for repair lockers for shipboard firefighting.
Ashley also teaches leadership, business, and organizational behavior classes for Harvard Extension
She holds an Industrial Engineering degree from Georgia Institute of Technology, and an MBA from MIT Sloan. She received her PhD in Management with a focus on Leadership Motivation at Sullivan University. Her dissertation focuses on workplace engagement, career motivation, and new manager training. She has written two books – Go Beyond the Job Description and Choose your Comeback Plan. Ashley has two children and enjoys running and traveling (when she has the time!)
