LFM Capital: Helping Our Partners Succeed

Check out our two minute overview, featuring LFM and partner companies ShopSabre, Fecon and J&E Precision. We are proud to share our passion for US manufacturing and will to continue to step up to the plate to help our portfolio companies reach the next level.

Here we feature Fecon, ShopSabre and J&E Precision Tool to introduce LFM and how we partner with owners and management teams.

Fecon is the leading manufacturer of heavy-duty forestry mulching equipment and related accessories in North America. Fecon’s products are used for vegetation management, erosion control, general land clearing and habitat restoration.

In choosing LFM, Fecon founder John Heekin was looking for a partner that would help take the company to the next level while remaining focused on operational excellence.  LFM worked with Fecon to facilitate a seamless leadership transition to allow John Heekin to exit the business knowing that his legacy was intact and company culture would be preserved.

Fecon CEO Bob Dieckman says that LFM’s passion for manufacturing and improvement is infectious and has spread through the organization at Fecon. He notes that the partnership with LFM is “leading to bigger and better things for Fecon.”

ShopSabre is a leading designer and manufacturer of CNC routers and plasma tables that are used in a variety of high-precision machining operations to cut wood, steel, aluminum and other metals. Founder Jim Bombardo launched ShopSabre out of his garage in 2001.  He was trying to help his wife launch a craft business by building a machine that would automate her process.  In doing so, he had an “ah ha” moment and ShopSabre was born.

Jim appreciated LFM’s understanding of his business and real-world manufacturing experience.  In short order, LFM worked side-by-side to help grow the team, move into a larger facility and invest in new equipment.

J&E Precision Tool is a manufacturer of components for the aerospace and defense industry.  Its products are used on a wide variety of aerospace and defense platforms and include racking components, piston ejection systems and pneumatic deck assemblies.

J&E was founded in 1979 by brothers Jim and Eugene Labrie.  Jim and Eugene were looking for a partner to help grow the business that has been such an integral part of their family for more than 40 years.  As Jim Labrie said, “LFM means business, but they have hearts, too.”  LFM is excited to continue working with J&E to invest in the business and take it to the next level.

As LFM Managing Director Dan Shockley says, “we have a passion for manufacturing and that passion brings itself into everything we do.” Here at LFM we believe that small manufacturing companies provide the foundation and infrastructure for our country’s critical supply chains  and we will continue to look for opportunities to grow and build on that foundation.
