The LFM Quarterly // Inside LFM: PSI Power & Controls

Spotlight on PSI Power & Controls, an LFM Portfolio Company since 2020

PSI Power and Controls

PSI manufactures custom electrical control panels and emergency power products across two divisions: Automation and Controls Solutions (“ACS”) and Emergency Power Products (“EPP”).

ACS provides large industrial OEMs with customized control panels focused on energy efficiency, motion control, and automation; includes low voltage starters, variable frequency drive panels.

EPP targets electrical distributors, electrical contractors, healthcare (hospitals and outpatient surgery centers), data centers, retail, and other end markets where backup or temporary power sources are required to mitigate costly downtime due to power loss. Some of its products include power metering equipment, generator tap boxes, connection cabinets, manual transfer switches, load bank connection cabinets, disconnect switches, enclosed circuit breakers, dual-purpose docking stations, and company switches.

What truly differentiates PSI is their commitment to "speed to the market and service to the customer" with their highly customized products, quick turn, high engagement, and highly technical engineering team. PSI builds customized customer-specific applications and technology.

PSI's 60th Anniversary

In order to better reflect company values and what the company is today, they have rebranded under the “PSI Power & Controls” brand name with a new company logo and website.  They are still the same passionate people for service, with some great new products, and a dedication to excellence in all areas. PSI is constantly adding new products and solutions to grow within the market. As they celebrate their 60th year in business, they remain focused on the pillars and values that made PSI what it is today and look forward to another 60 successful years. The job tenure numbers at PSI speak for themselves, regarding what a strong and committed team they are!

By the Numbers:

  • Within the walls of PSI are over 400 combined years of experience in the power solutions industry and at PSI.

  • 18% of the team has been with PSI for over 10 years.

  • 7% of the team has been with PSI for over 25 years!

PSI Power & Controls understands the necessity for the ability to connect. Their experience in the field, with valued customers, and with UL-listings, makes them the ideal partner in the Emergency Power Products space.
