Unlocking Potential Together with Rainier

Here we introduce former owner of Rainier, Scott Campbell, and current CEO, Chris Inverso. Campbell walks through the process of selling Rainier, which had been in his family for 6 decades and, looking toward the future, Inverso notes, “I realized LFM was the right partner for Rainer from the moment I shook their hands.  Everything they said made so much sense; it was like they got us and they understood who we are. They don’t come in and pretend to be experts, but they ask a lot of thoughtful questions and it allows us to see opportunities. In many ways LFM is unlocking the potential that is already in Rainier.”

Rainier Industries was founded in 1896 (as Puget Sound Tent and Duck) and built canvas tents for prospectors headed to Alaska for the Klondike Gold Rush. Today, Rainier is composed of three divisions – Display, Shade and Shelter – and makes a variety of products that improve lives and lifestyles. From wall tents, yurts and cottages to retractable power screens and awnings, branded environments and experiential marketing elements, commercial tents and industrial products, Rainier uses visionary creativity, unique engineering and precision manufacturing to make the best Display, Shade and Shelter products on the market.

LFM is incredibly proud to have the opportunity to take Rainier to the next level and looks forward to working with Inverso and the team to that end.

As LFM Senior Associate Tucker Cowden says, "Rainier has a culture that is incredibly well-aligned with LFM's culture.  Rainier puts customers first. At LFM, we think the same way about our LPs as well as the businesses we work with.  It’s a really hardworking atmosphere full of people who also enjoy camaraderie, want to have fun and want to learn from each other and I think that's part of what made Rainier a perfect place for us to invest."
