Our LFM Superhero:

The Kevin Bradley Story

LFM's Senior Vice President of Finance, Kevin Bradley, is often the first person to arrive and the last to leave at night. We're pretty sure he wasn't born on Krypton, but where did he come from?

After growing up outside of Nashville, Kevin’s passion for playing soccer led him to Union University, where as a freshman, he busted the curve on the first accounting test. EUREKA! Kevin discovered one of his many superpowers: ACCOUNTING!

He enjoyed this newfound aptitude so much that he saved his accounting homework for last, as a reward. He continued to play soccer and developed his leadership skills on and off the pitch as Team Captain (not THAT Captain) and through coaching. Kevin shared, “Whether you’re on the field or in the office, a team is a team. What makes a good coach, makes a good manager: providing immediate positive feedback and making thoughtful adjustments in real time.”

After graduation, Kevin began his accounting legacy at the Tennessee Department of Treasury and got to work on earning his CPA license. At Parker, Parker, and Associates (not THAT Parker) he worked as a Staff Accountant until returning to the Treasury Department. Over the following decade, he went from Assistant Director of Accounting to Deputy Director of Accounting, then Deputy Chief Operating Officer, and finally, Deputy Treasurer.

He was even the Interim Director of Information Systems, what can’t he do?! Kevin had always been interested in private equity and was excited to learn about LFM. In 2022, he joined our team and has been saving the day for us ever since.

At a high level, Kevin oversees our compliance, tax, human resources, and accounting functions. His day-to-day is never the same, and as he describes it, “I usually plan my time based on the calendar – for example, where we are relative to taxes being due and having to file various compliance forms – so I try to assign myself tasks based on each month, quarter, and year."

"A large part of my job is interacting with various service providers like our accounting firm and fund administrator. I also get take on ad-hoc projects like sourcing a new technology service provider for the firm. I also get to interact with almost every LFM employee either as part of my job or because they like to stop by to sample the various (and typically uncommon) treats I keep in a bowl on my desk.”

His favorite part of working at LFM is the people, “even if it sounds cheesy, LFM has assembled an awesome group of people with different backgrounds and skill sets and I love to find opportunities to chat with people throughout the day.

Not everyone knows this, but I am a bit of an office prankster, and I love that the team plays along.” His best prank so far? “I started moving a wooden Pelican that one of our associates keeps on his desk to random places around the office to see how long it would take him to notice. We’ve shared a lot of laughs over that one.”

His favorite superhero? “That’s a tough one. I’m a pretty traditional guy so I think I have to go with Superman. Super strength, super speed, x-ray vision. Superman’s abilities are multi-faceted – which is exactly what it takes to do my job. Like Superman always says, I’m helping to instill ‘truth, justice, and a better tomorrow’ – right here at LFM Capital!”
